Ages 12 to 18
Leo Club — Alpha
School-age Leo clubs focused on the personal development of teenagers — planning and running real service projects with the sponsoring Lions club as mentor.
Savanna-la-Mar · Westmoreland · Jamaica
We are business people, professionals and community leaders from Savanna-la-Mar and across Westmoreland who meet, then get to work. Vision screening. Diabetes awareness. Feeding programmes. Disaster relief. Young people learning to lead. Small, steady, local work that adds up.
Where the work goes
Every project the club runs sits in one of these. It keeps us honest about whether a good idea is actually Lions work.
Eye screening, glasses drives and support for the blind and visually impaired — the cause Lions are best known for, since Helen Keller charged Lions to be Knights of the Blind in 1925.
Screening, awareness and support for families managing diabetes across Westmoreland.
Support for children in treatment and their families.
Feeding programmes and food support for vulnerable households.
Coastal clean-ups, tree planting and climate resilience work in the parish.
Response and recovery support — work that has defined this year in Westmoreland after Hurricane Melissa.
Health fairs, medical outreach and support for parish institutions.
Leo clubs, leadership camps and programmes that grow the next generation of servers.
Current work
The club runs a small number of projects properly rather than a long list badly.
From the Lions Code of Ethics
The Lions Code of Ethics was adopted in 1917 and its spirit has not changed since. Among its commitments:
The youth arm
Lions run a family of youth programmes, each pitched at a different age. Together they form a path from primary school to professional life.

Membership
Lions clubs bring together people of every trade and profession. What we ask for is not a category but a commitment — to the meetings, the dues, and the work.
